Today we had our first Te Reo Maori class with Mrs Yeoman. We will be having sessions with Mrs Yeoman every Friday morning this term. Today we practised our colours (nga tae), were introduced to new whakatauki (proverbs) and sung lots of fun waiata.

S.P.C.A. CRAFT & BAKE SALE
This morning we held the Room 9 & 11 S.P.C.A. Craft & Bake Sale. We were all very excited to set up the hall for our stall. Lots of people had important jobs handling money and even providing security! Thank you so much to all the parents who helped the children bake for this event.
Because of the generosity of the Room 9 & 11 children, we had so many items that we need to have another sale tomorrow. All of the leftover items will be just 50c.
After school Mrs McCulley counted up the money we have made so far and she was amazed! Watch out on the blog to find out what the final total will be!

This afternoon we tested out the new climbing frame in our playground. Thank you to the PTA who have been busy fundraising and organising the new playground equipment. Lucky us!
VISITORS FROM JAPAN
Today we had a special assembly to welcome our visitors from our sister school Gifu Shotoku Gakuen in Japan. Twelve children and three teachers will be at our school for the rest of the week. Later in the year, a group of George Street Normal School students will be visiting them in Japan. How exciting!
